Meetings
Meetings are held at the Boambee East Community Centre in Bruce King Drive, Boambee East, NSW - and begin at 7pm on the first Monday of the month (excluding January). There is usually a discussion of recent events of interest in the astronomical world, then a short talk. If the sky is clear after the main meeting, there will be the chance to observe the sky with members' telescopes or binoculars. Even from this suburban location, it is possible to see the Moon and planets (when favourably positioned), plus star clusters, nebulae and galaxies beyond our own Milky Way galaxy.
Visitors are welcome to come along and join in the discussion of topics of interest - or obtain advice on pursuing an interest in astronomy.

Each month, Win Howard gives an overview of recent events of note in the world of astronomy. Just follow the link on the menu to find out what's been happening. Older reports are also archived here.
Thinking of buying a telescope?
An oft-asked question is "What sort of telescope should I buy?" Or, "How much will a telescope cost?" For advice on this issue, read Buying a telescope before you part with any cash. You might save money, and you will almost certainly have a better experience of looking at the night sky.
